Comments: I didn't know Marco but in many ways he's always been part of my family. As a great friend to my father, pictures of him still hang on our walls. I know that my father loved him very much and still refers to him as his brother. Throughout the years my father has started to lose his memory but has NEVER forgotten Marco. He must've been a great friend. My heart goes out to Marcos family and friends. The pain I saw in my fathers eyes on that day and everyday since makes it very clear that the world lost someone very special.

Comments: I knew La Novel well as a dancer and danced to their music for many years. I was very sadden to hear that Marco was one of the New Yorkers who died on 911. He was a funny man who made many of us dancers Laugh. He had a great voice and truly enjoyed being the lead singer to La Novel. My prayers will go out yearly to his soul and his family.

Comments: I had a brief acquaintance with Marc back when we both worked in the Commodities Division at Dean Witter Reynolds in the early 80's. I had recently returned to NY after playing pro basketball in Puerto Rico, and once Marc learned that I played, he graciously invited me to join his once-a-week gathering of friends at FDR H.S., where his good pal, Coach Rock Eisenberg, opened the gym to allow us to play pick-up games. Although Mark was a bit older than us, he certainly held his own on the court. As an avid fan of Salsa music, I was even more impressed that he also fronted the charanga band, Orquesta Novel, and I became a follower of his music. Our friendship was brief, but I was still distraught when I learned that he perished in the towers. I won't ever forget him. May God bless him always. Pete Acevedo

Comments: I stood next to Marco in the NYMEX options pit for the first year that I was member of the exchange. I will always remember him as one of the few people that was genuinely interested in helping me succeed. His council and kind words of encouragement have stuck with me, and I think of him often. He was a true gentleman, and will forever live in my memory as someone to live up to!

Comments: I first met Marquito around 1976 when he was with Tipica Novel and I the leader of Charanga Casino, always a gentleman, always found the time to say hello and talk, I miss him especially his deadpan humor and very humble when as the singer for the hottest charanga in town he could've been just the opposite, when evil men kill good men it only shows the world how wrong evil can be. Marquito does not walk among us anymore but his voice and talent does. Felipe

Comments: Dear Motroni Family, I had the opportunity to go to work for Marc around 1984, when he was Dean Witter's Commodity Floor Manager. I was his secretary until February of 1987. Marc had that rare ability to be a part of the management team and still be concerned about those individuals who worked for him. Everyone knew that Marc cared about them as workers and would do whatever he could for them. I learned of Marc's death a few months after 911, and my thoughts went immediately to his sons and what they had lost. It was a privilege to have known your father and one of my treasures is the album he gave me. I think of him often and wish all of you muy buena suerte. Thank you for making this memorial available. Sincerely, Gloria

Comments: I stood next to Mark "MOT" Motroni on the floor of the NYMEX for a few years and to me, he was not just another trader on the floor. It was as if I got to go to work every day and stand next to my dad. He always had some words of wisdom for me, a smile on his face, and literally sang something every single day. I missed his radiant personality when I left the trading floor and I miss him even more since 9/11.
